Man Accused of Killing His Wife and Brother-in-Law
A court in Lagos, Nigeria has postponed its decision in a serious case. A 50-year-old man named Benjamin Ogudoro is accused of killing his wife and her brother by setting them on fire.
The incident happened on April 1, 2022, at a house in the Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos. Ogudoro is alleged to have poured petrol on his wife, Chinyere, her brother, Ifeanyi, and their bed, and then lit the fire while they were sleeping.
Ogudoro's wife had just returned from Scotland and was visiting her family. Her brother was her only son. The case has been ongoing in court since December 2022.
The judge, Justice Sherifat Sonaike, had originally planned to make a decision on February 13, 2025, but she postponed it until February 27, 2025.
The judge decided to postpone her decision because she could not read it on the original date. The court will now meet again on February 27 to make a decision in the case. We will wait to see what happens next.
