New Orleans Tragedy on New Year's Day

Something terrible happened in New Orleans on January 1, 2025. A truck crashed into a crowd of people, killing 10 and hurting 30.

The accident happened during New Year's celebrations in a popular area called the French Quarter. A white truck drove very fast into a crowd on Canal and Bourbon Street.

People who saw it happen said the driver got out and started shooting a gun. The police shot back.

Witnesses said it was very chaotic. "We wanted to help the people who were hurt," one person said.

The police closed off the area and are investigating. This happened even though there were more police officers in the area for New Year's celebrations.
