Sudanese Players Missing from Asante Kotoko SC's U.S. Camp During Ghana Week DC 2024
Two Sudanese players, Esmat AbdalHamid Mohamed and Obdoelkarem Yoouef Yagoub, are reported missing from Asante Kotoko SC's camp in the U.S. The club, being in Ghana, informed that the players left the team's hotel without permission on October 11th, 2024.
Attempts to reach them have been unsuccessful. Asante Kotoko has alerted U.S. authorities and is working to locate them. The players were in the U.S. to play against D.C. United as part of Ghana Week DC 2024 but faced visa issues.
As a result, the rest of the team could not make it, leading to Asante Kotoko's withdrawal from the match. Seven players, including the missing duo, traveled for the game. The remaining players will return to Ghana on October 13.
The match will still take place with a team comprising Kotoko's remaining players, two from another club, and Ghanaian players based in the U.S.
