Authorities Crack Down on Illegal Oil Activities Across Southern Nigeria

In Amalakiri, Southern Ijaw, an illegal refining site was shut down by authorities after seizing more than 2,500 stolen products.

 In another incident, a wooden boat carrying over 1,800 litres of stolen AGO in sacks was intercepted in the Idewa/Waribokiri area of Ogbia LGA.

 Moving to Delta State, a trailer from Plateau with the registration number JJN 167 ZU was caught red-handed siphoning crude oil from the Nigerian Petrolatum Development Company Oil pipeline in Ozoro, Isioko North LGA. 

Two individuals have been apprehended in connection with this illicit act. Furthermore, multiple vehicles transporting stolen goods were also intercepted in operations at Obi Anyima Community in Ika South LGA and Ugo Community in Orhiomwon, Edo State. 

Meanwhile, in Akwa Ibom State, troops successfully confiscated three drums of premium motor spirit near the Oron waterways, suspected to be intended for smuggling to a neighbouring country. 

The efforts of the troops in this state have been ongoing to combat illegal bunkering activities and hinder the operations of economic saboteurs and their associates.
