Kidnappers in Nasarawa killed a 19-year-old Moroccan university student after receiving N17m ransom.
Last Friday evening in Lafia, Zubairu was abducted and tragically lost his life at the hands of his captors despite his family paying a ransom of N17 million for his release.
Zubairu, a student at a university in Morocco, was visiting his family during a holiday when he was taken. The incident occurred while he was securing his gate after spending some time with his family and parking his car.
The kidnappers, who had been hiding nearby, shot Zubairu in the left shoulder before whisking him away to an undisclosed location. After this dreadful event, the abductors demanded a ransom of N30 million from his family.
Following negotiations, the ransom amount was reduced to N17 million, which the family managed to gather and pay. Unfortunately, just two days after the ransom was handed over, the kidnappers stopped communicating with the family.
It wasn't until early Sunday morning that the family received the devastating news of Zubairu's untimely demise.
