The President of Cameroon is heading to Beijing this weekend for a meeting with the Chinese President Xi Jinping at the China-Africa summit. This meeting aims to improve the long-standing friendship and cooperation between Cameroon and China.
During his visit, President Biya will discuss various ways to strengthen the ties between the two countries with President Xi Jinping. They might sign some agreements to boost their collaboration. This will be President Biya's eighth trip to China, which is an important partner for Cameroon's goal to become an emerging economy by 2035.
Besides President Biya, other African leaders like Diomaye Faye, Felix Tshisekedi, Oligui Nguema, and Sassou Nguesso will also be attending the summit to enhance their economic relationships with China.
The previous China-Africa summit in 2021 in Dakar was heavily impacted by the Covid-19 crisis, highlighting the challenges faced during the pandemic.
